Actors - Please do not cut your hair between the time of audition and the time you are notified about casting. If cast, do not cut your hair until permitted by the director.

The rehearsal schedule and performance times require mandatory attendance! It's important to everyone that you attend all rehearsals.

MRYT will cast the best person for the role regardless of race or gender.

Some roles may be double-cast. Each cast member will be required to attend all rehearsals and will perform during the run.

If you audition you are agreeing to clear your calendar for rehearsals. If you have conflicts, please do not audition - take one of our theater classes instead!

There is no tuition fee for the play. However, a refundable dropout fee of $100 is due at the time of callbacks. Dropout fees will be refunded, to all cast members who fulfill their obligations to the show, at the time of the cast party.

HOW TO AUDITION

1. Start at the web site documents: audition checklist, monologues, resume form/contact sheet, and rehearsal/performance schedule. Read all documents carefully.

2. Choose a monologue appropriate for you - the one that interests you the most.

3. Fill out the resume/contact sheet and attach a photograph (which will not be returned) to your resume form.

4. Call the MRYT office for an audition appointment:
Appointments are only 10 minutes in length at the River of Life Assembly of God Church, 1430 Ashley Road in Boonville.

The audition panel will collect your paperwork, watch your monologue, work on character improvisation and/or ask you to read a scene from the script.
All actors MUST have their permission slip in order to audition. At least one parent/legal gaurdian MUST attend one (but not both) manditory parent meeting in order to obtain and sign a permission slip.

5. We will hold call-backs for children we'd like to see again before making a final casting choice.

All children will be called personally about call-backs and casting decisions.
